St Thomas' Finsbury Park -
Hall Charges & Conditions for Hire 2007/08

Issued with the authority of the Vicar, Churchwardens and Parochial Church Council of St Thomas the Apostle, Finsbury Park.

1. The basic charge is £15 per hour, with a minimum charge of £30.
2. For 'one-off' bookings a returnable deposit of £25 is to be paid. This may be returned at the discretion of the vicar after consultation with the hall keeper.
3. Those who are using the hall at least once each week may be charged £12-50 per hour with a minimum of £30.
4. The Meeting Room is also for hire at £10 per hour.
5. All payment is in advance. Cheques should be made payable to 'The PCC of St Thomas' Church'.
6. The hall is occasionally available for private parties, but never for ones at which amplified music is played and/or alcoholic drink sold.
7. The hall is not usually available for private hire on Fridays between 12.00 noon and 7.00 p.m. when it is being cleaned, or on Sundays.
8. For health and safety reasons numbers at private parties are limited to 80 including children.
9. The playgroup equipment cannot be moved out of the hall for the convenience of other users. Requests to do so will be considered, but this will incur an extra charge of £50 because of the risk of damage to the floor and the equipment as well as the extra work involved in doing so.
10. Along with government and local council policy the church encourages recycling as much waste as possible. Those who use the hall are asked to be vigilant about this. Paper, glass and cans/tins are to be placed in the recycling bins near the gate. Vegetable, fruit, flower and plant waste should be separated and placed in the green composter near the gate. All other waste must be securely sealed in plastic bags before leaving.
11. There is a special rate of £40 for 4 hours for children's parties on Saturdays between 2.00 and 6.00 p.m., or on weekdays between 3.00 and 7.00 p.m.
12. All those using the hall are expected to abide by our Child Protection Policy.
13. The hall cannot be hired by groups hostile to our faith.
14. The hall, kitchen and lavatories must be left in a fit state for the next user. The grounds must also be checked for litter, food waste and cigarette ends.
15. Smoking is not permitted inside the building.
16. No equipment is to be kept in the hall and nothing fixed or stuck to the walls except by prior arrangement with the vicar.
17. All functions are to finish by 10.30 p.m. at the latest. Clearing up must be completed by 11.00 p.m. This is out of courtesy to our neighbours.
18. The vicar and/or churchwardens and/or hall keeper will terminate the use of the hall at their discretion if there is misbehaviour or abuse.
19. These charges and conditions will be reviewed at the meeting of the P.C.C. in May 2008. Any changes will be effective from September 2008.
